A while ago I decided to write 100 letters to single mothers in democratic districts in Nevada who did not vote in the last election. I haven’t done it yet. Maybe if I post this publicly it will shame me into actually doing it.

Go Jen Go! I recommend putting up a bat, like Howard Dean’s.
“Number of letters I’ve written so far.” Go Go Go!
I’m feeling so very pessimistic about the election, especially now with the Republican convention coming up and the Republicans preparing to put it out that protesters are being disrespectful of the president! A dopey message but I bet it carries weight with a lot of people. Anyway, it’s great that you’re doing (er, not doing) the letters. My friend Pru, bless her selfless soul, went down to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for a week to help register people to vote. She was there to vist an Egyptian legal alien whose story she read about in the paper after he was imprisoned for months after 9/11. When he was released he sued the government, which has now retaliated by moving to deport him. She has taken up his cause by writing amazing letters to various senators and rounding up lawyers for him.
That help?
How goes the letter writing?
My God that’s ambitious. Maybe you could do it chain-letter style, sending out just ten letters to single mothers, and tell them to forward the letter to ten of their single friends? I mean, c’mon, we’re talking Nevada — it might work…
